Adaminaby, NSW - Canberra, ACT

Reported by Hastakamala Diaz, Prachar Stegemann 110.0 km

Although we finished our run yesterday in Adaminaby, due to the school holidays, there were no accommodations available for us in this fair town, so we drove the 50km to Cooma to spend the night. Upon rising this morning, our girls team spotted a local market fair in Centennial Park amidst Cooma's accustomed early morning fog, and brought the Peace Torch to be shared amongst some enthusiastic Scouts, and friends.

Noel was happy to hold the Peace Torch...

... as was Tash.

A reflective moment for peace.

The boys team, meanwhile, took the Torch for a road trip – first retracing their drive of the previous evening to Adaminaby, thence heading into the misty unknown...

... beyond the northern edge of the Monaro Plain.

Now heading north towards the ACT, these tracts are served only by dirt roads, with traffic sparse along the way.

Our two Mongolian runners are ever-ready to step up with any number of kilometres required: Sarankhuu Jargal ...

... and Bayarkhuu Batbayar. Our team is extremely fortunate to have such quality runners on board.

The Boboyan (or Bobeyan) Rd becomes the Yoauk Rd, which leads up and down and around into and through the Namadgi National Park, where it eventually becomes the Naas Rd.

The mist rose to reveal a glorious Autumn day in this invigorating bushland.

Salil Wilson, our international CEO, road-tested Amalendu's e-bike for close to 50km and found it not wanting in any department.

Atul Arora, from Delhi, India, was another to make light work of the kms today.

Nurari Merry ran the section from Gundgenby River, past the impressive Mt Tennant, as we approached Tharwa and the southern outskirts of Canberra.

We were joined by the great ultra-marathoner, Martin Fryer, for the final 8km of our journey.

Pausing by the Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile at Westbourne Woods.

The advance party awaited at the Sri Chinmoy Statue at Yarralumla Bay.

A soulful moment of gratitude for a rewarding and memorable few days back on the road with the Peace Torch ...

... and to the Founder of the Peace Run, Sri Chinmoy, whose life and example serve as the inspiration to lead us ever forwards and upwards in our quest.
