After a really nice rest in guest house "Krasti" and we started our day with an official ceremony next to the city hall of Livani.
Pēcpatiesi jaukas atpūtas viesu namā "Krasti", mēs uzsākām savu dienu ar oficiālu ceremoniju pie Līvānu pilsētas domes.
The torch was officially given to the chairman district council of Livani - Andris Vaivods...
Lāpa tika oficiāli nodota Līvānu novada domes priekšsēdētājam Andrim Vaivodam...
...and then passed to the workers of the city council and everybody present.
...un tad padota tālāk pilsētas domes darbiniekiem un visiem klātesošajiem.
After reading out the support letter from the President of Latvia Andris Berzins, we gave the district of Livani a certificate for their participation...
Pēc Latvijas valsts prezidenta Andra Bērziņa atbalsta vēstules nolasīšanas, mēs pasniedzām Līvānu novadam sertifikātu par dalību...
...and a small gift - a reproduction of a painting "World Harmony" of the founder of the Peace Run Sri Chinmoy.
...un nelielu dāvanu - Miera Skrējiena dibinātāja Šri Činmoja gleznas "Pasaules harmonija" reprodukciju.
Our serbian runner was congratulated in a special way - he is supposed to have covered the biggest distance of all in these 5 days in Latvia.
Mūsu serbu skrējējs tika sveikts īpašā veidā - šo piecu dienu laikā Latvijā viņš ir noskrējis vislielāko distanci.
We then took off the Peace Run flag that we had put up yesterday evening...
Tad mēs noņēmām Miera skrējiena karogu, ko bijām uzlikuši mastā vakar...
...and together with everybody present ran a few symbolic steps around the city hall.
...un kopā ar visiem klātesošajiem noskrējām pāris simbolisku soļu blakus domei.
The staff was excited and expressed their willingness to start every morning in a similar fashion.
Domes darbinieki bija sajūsmināti un izteica vēlmi līdzīgā veidā uzsākt katru rītu.
The sportsmen of Livani helped us to cover the distane to the municipality border...
Līvānu sportisti mums palīdzēja noklāt distanci līdz novada robežai...
...where they passed the torch to the municipality of Preili.
...kur viņi nodeva lāpu Preiļu novadam.
At the city border there were people awaiting us - local enthusiasts and the chairman of the district council.
Pie pilsētas robežas mūs jau gaidīja cilvēki- gan vietējie entuziasti, gan arī novada domes priekšsēdētājs.

Next to the city hall we were treated with the much needed water in this hot day...
Pie pilsētas domes mēs cienāja ar tik ļoti nepieciešamo ūseni šajā karstajā dienā...
...and some souveniers.
...un neizpalika arī suvenīri.
The captain of the team then spoke about the run...
Tad komandas kapteinis pastāstīja par skrējienu...
...and introduced the international team in a funny way - the members of the international team spoke in their own languages and the local kids had to guess which country was it.
...un jautrā veidā iepazīstināja klātesošos ar starptautisko komandu - katrs runāja savā valodā un bērniem vajadzēja uzminēt, kas tā par valsti.
They were really good guessers...
Viņi minēja ļoti labi...
...so we thanked them by singing our Peace Run song.
...tāpēc mēs pateicāmies, nodziedot Miera skrējiena dziesmu.

We had a great lunch in Preili - runners were so full that we had to pull a straw in order to decide who will run first...

On the way we met some people who took the opportunity to take the torch - in this way they become part of the team!
Ceļā mēs satikām cilvēkus, kuri izmanotja iespēju paņemt rokās lāpu - šādā veidā viņi kļūst par daļu no komandas!
We then continued to Daugavpils - the second biggest city in Latvia.
Tad mēs turpinājām uz Daugavpili - otru lielāko Latvijas pilsētu.

Daži patiešām labi skrējēji mūs gaidīja un pievienojās tieši pirms Daugavpils.
They certainly put up a good pace!

The day was really hot but we gathered in one of the main squares of the city...
Diena bija ļoti karsta, bet mēs sapulcējāmies vienā no pilsētas galvenajiem laukumiem...
...and after a brief ceremony passed the torch oficially to the city of Daugavpils in the person of vice mayor Janis Duksinskis.
...un pēc nelielas ceremonijas oficiāli nodevām lāpu Daugavpilij tās priekšēdētāja vietnieka jāņa Dukšinska personā.

On our way through Latvia we certainly did read out the support letter from the president quite a lot of times.

It seems that in Daugavpils you can get electricity also through canalization.
Šķiet, ka Daugavpilī iespējams saņemt elektrību arī caur kanalizāciju.
We started to run to our next destination - vice mayor and the sports organizer kindly ran with us for some distance - thank you for your support and encouragement!

Our last stop in Latvia was in Medumi.
Pēdējā Latvijs pieturvieta bija Medumos.
It may be a samll spot on the map, but the people really felt to be alive there.
Kartē tā varbūt ir neliela vieta, bet cilvēkos bija jūtama dzīvība!
Everybody joined in for a few steps...
Visi pievienojās uz dažiem soļiem...
...but some ran even farther.
...bet daži pat turpināja skriet tālāk.
Our lithuanian friends waited already some distance before the border.
Mūsu lietuviešu draugi mūs jau gaidīja kādu gabaliņu pirms robežas.
It was about 1km to the border...
Līdz robežai vēl bija atlicis apmēram kilometrs...
