Jul. 14, 2016 Live from the road

Fargo, ND - Minneapolis, MN

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo 79.0 mi

The women's team was the first to hit the road in the morning. Zuzka enjoys her early morning run.

Somehow she got lost in the endless corn fields but found her way back out.

Can this trio beat the train?

Chetana does her miles cheerfully.

Pierre challenges himself to do a fast half-marathon continuous run.

He happily does his best time ever.

Puroga has an short easy run as he recovers from a few long runs in the past few days.

Yuyudhan has a scenic run and finally can slow down at the end of the 'speed zone'.

The flame is passed to Salil.

In Ashby we met with Chris Ray, a reporter from the Grant County Herald. We are so grateful and happy when the media come out to cover our story and inspire the local communities with soem good news.

Winnie Thompson from the Ashby-Dalton Post newpaper in Ashby was also happy to meet us and share the torch.

She was so delighted to share the torch and offer her goodwill and pleasant smile.

Back to the road as we make our way towards Minneapolis.

Yatkara is happy to be on the road again and on the other side of his camera.

At the end of the day in Alexandria we were greeted by a group of enthusiastic women from town.

After they guessed our countries we sang them our Peace Run song.

Karen Andrews came out in the rain to share the torch and her good sense of humor and friendship.

Marie Vatnsdal was so happy to meet everyone as we finished our day in her town.

Mari Wosepka came out to take photos for the ECHO newspaper even in the rainy, chilly weather.

Two more members joined us, Tara Bitzen(left), from the Chamber of Commerce and Ole the giant Viking(behind us) who was too tall to hold the torch.

We are so happy and grateful to end our day of running with such wonderful and supportive people. We offered them a few simple but colorful gifts to express just a portion of our gratitude for their presence here on this rainy, chilly day.

Jim Olson and his son, Kris, invited us for some much needed physical therapy at their clinic called 'Motion Care'.

We are extremely grateful to them for their generosity, time and loving care they gave our team to keep us balanced and strong enough to make it back to New York for one more month of running for peace.
