Before arriving at the beginning of our official route, we are driving from Bratislava to the village of Kráľ.
But we couldn't miss a stop at an amazing place - the Mlyňany Arboretum.
Pred dostavením sa na začiatok našej oficiálnej trasy sa presúvame v autách z Bratislavy do obec Kráľ.
Ale nemohli sme si nechať ujsť zastávku na úžasnom mieste – Arborétum Mlyňany.
Ing. Jana Konôpková, head of the Arboretum, kindly welcomed us and we were very happy to hear some interesting facts. The Arboretum celebrated its 130th anniversary last year and is one of the most important in Central Europe.
Ing. Jana Konôpková, vedúca Arboréta, nás milo privítala a veľmi radi sme si vypočuli nejaké zaujímavosti. Arborétum oslávilo 130te výročie minulý rok a patrí medzi najdôležitejšie v strednej Európe.
The Mlyňany Arboretum of the Slovak Academy of Sciences is a protected area in the village of Tesárske Mlyňany and Vieska nad Žitavou in the district of Zlaté Moravce. It is the most important dendrological place in Slovakia, whose collections contain more than 2,300 species of trees from the Mediterranean, America, Africa and Asia (Note: dendrology – the science of trees).
Arborétum Mlyňany Slovenskej akadémie vied je chránený areál v obci Tesárske Mlyňany a Vieska nad Žitavou v okrese Zlaté Moravce. Ide o najvýznamnejšie dendrologické zariadenie Slovenska, v zbierkach ktorého sa nachádza viac ako 2300 druhov drevín zo Stredomoria, Ameriky, Afriky a Ázie (Pozn: dendrológia – náuka o drevinách).
We are extremely excited that, in cooperation with the staff of the Mlyňany Arboretum, we were able to declare one exemplary tree as the Peace Tree.
Sme nesmierne nadšení, že v spolupráci s pracovníkmi Arboréta Mlyňany sme mohli vyhlásiť jeden exemplárny strom ako Strom mieru.
This is a beautiful linden tree right at the entrance to the area. We are very honored that it will be among many very important and rare species. It stands out beautifully, and from now on we will be reminded of the importance of peace with this memorial plaque.
Jedná sa o krásnu lipu hneď pri vstupe do areálu. Je nám veľkou cťou, že bude medzi mnohými veľmi významnými a vzácnymi druhmi. Krásne sa vyníma, a odteraz nám bude pripomínať dôležitosť mieru aj touto pamätnou tabuľou.
Having peace and living in peace is something we should not take for granted. Only when there is peace in the world can we make progress, have joy, and can advance in all domaines. All employees of the Arboretum are a living example of positive energy.
Mať mier a žiť v mieri – to je niečo, čo by sme nemali brať ako samozrejmosť. Len keď je mier na svete, môžeme robiť pokrok, máme radosť a môžeme sa rozvíjať. Všetci pracovníci Arboréta sú živým príkladom pozitívnej energie.
We were joined by Ing. Peter Ferus, PhD. Head of Department of Dendrobiology. Together with Miss Head they set an example and ran with us. They lead us to the mansion house on the hill, which was built by the founder, Dr. István Ambrózy-Migazzi.
Pridal sa k nám aj Ing. Peter Ferus, PhD., Vedúci oddelenia dendrobiológie a spolu s pani vedúcou sa príkladne pripojili k nášmu behu. Zaviedli nás ku kaštieľu na kopčeku, ktorý dal postaviť zakladateľ, Dr. Štefan Ambrózy-Migazzi.
As a gift, we gave the Arboretum a painting by the founder of our run, which symbolizes the bird of freedom. We are sure that it will join all other birds who enjoy freedom and joy in the Arboretum.
Ako darček za privítanie sme Arborétu darovali maľbu od zakladateľa nášho behu, ktorý symbolizuje vtáčika slobody. Veríme, že sa pridá k ostatným vtáčikom, ktorý si užívajú slobodu a radosť v Arboréte.
Just as we cannot live without peace, we cannot live without nature either - Mother Earth provides us not only food for the physical body, but also what we call spiritual food. Being in nature means being able to gather strength, harmonize and feel inner peace, which is the basis for outer peace.
And to be in such a beautifully landscaped area is even more rare, just enter and you already feel uplifted.
Tak ako nemôžeme žiť bez mieru, nemôžeme žiť ani bez prírody – Matka Zem nám poskytuje nielen teda potravu pre fyzické telo, ale hlavne aj to, čo my nazývame duchovnú potravu. Byť v prírode totiž znamená môcť si načerpať síl, zharmonizovať sa a cítiť vnútorný mier, čo je základom pre vonkajší mier.

Rhododendrons and roses are among the largest collections in the Arboretum and we certainly enjoyed them to the fullest since we came in their season.
Rododendróny a ruže patria medzi najväčšie zbierky v Arboréte a určite sme si ich naplno užili, keďže prichádzame v ich sezóne.
We thank all the workers of the Arboretum for taking such exemplary care of the entire area, organizing various educational programs for schools and the public, and spreading their love for nature in this way. We cannot even imagine a more beautiful beginning to our 2023 route of the Slovak Peace Run.
Ďakujeme všetkým pracovníkom Arboréta, že sa takto príkladne starajú o celý areál, poriadajú rôzne vzdelávacie programy pre školy, verejnosť a šíria svoju lásku k prírode takýmto spôsobom. Krajší začiatok našej tohtoročnej trasy Mierového behu si ani nevieme predstaviť.
Our team member from New Zealand enjoys the start of summer as thez are at the beginning of the winter season. He also mentioned to us that the largest Arboretum in New Zealand was recently declared a Peace-Blossom - as a recognition of the contribution that these special places bring to world peace.
Náš bežec z Nového Zélandu sa teší zo začiatku leta, keďže u nich sa práve začína zimná sezóna. Tiež nám prezradil, že najväčšie Arborétum v Novom Zélande bolo nedávno vyhlásené za Mierový kvet - ako ocenenie príspevku týchto osobitných miest k mieru na svete.
We once again returned to the Peace Tree to contemplate and feel the qualities that it offers us.
Vrátili sme sa ešte raz k novému Stromu mieru, aby sme ešte raz precítili kvality, ktoré nám ponúka.
And just as we were leaving the Arboretum, pupils from the Elementary School in Lučenec came in on an excursion and since they were curious as to why we had a torch with us, we were happy to share everything.
A práve keď sme odchádzali z Arboréta, žiaci zo Základnej škole v Lučenci prišli na exkurziu a keďže boli zvedaví, prečo máme so sebou pochodeň, radi sme sa o všetko podelili.
And they were very happy to contribute to the peace wishes that we will carry in the torch to the whole world.
Aj oni veľmi radi prispeli k mierovým želaniam, ktoré v pchodni ponesieme do celého sveta.

And at the very end - the spiritual and calm part of the day -hugging the trees to feel their strength and peace and at the same time to express our gratitude to them for everything they give us so selflessly.
A úplne na záver - duchovná časť programu na utíšenie na konci dňa - objímanie stromov, aby sme cítili ich silu and pokoj a zároveň vyjadrili im našu vďaku za všetko, čo nám úplne nezištne poskytujú.
We are happy and fulfilled in every way. We truly and from the bottom of our hearts thank everyone who helped us organize everything so beautifully.
Sme štastní a naplnení po každej stránke. Skutočne a zo srdca ďakujeme všetkým, ktorí nám pomohli všetko takto krásne zorganizovať.
