Aveiro - Coimbra

Reported by Patricio da Rocha

... a rainy start in Aveiro, but our spirit couldn't get dampened...

..we reached the "Colegio Nossa Senhora da Assuncao" in Anadia. Fortunately the meeting took place indoor...

...the principal received the torch and passed it on to 830 kids. This took a while...

...in the meantime the rain stopped and we took the chance for an excited run accross the school tard...

..we left the school with a group of children and started our Run through Anadia.

...we picked up more kids...

...and had even a short stop in the Kindergarden...

...a few km later we reached the sport complex, where the mayor, more children and spectators awaited us...

..the mayor of Anadia welcomes the runners...

...we got little paper rolls with peace poems...

...the poems fitted different purposes...

...

...a great voice...

Thank you Anadia for the hospitality!

...the country side in the region around Coimbra is really beautiful...

...on our way into Mealhada we went to the "Escola Secundaria de Mealhada"- school for a presentation of the Peace Run...

...together with the kids we ran to the city hall...

...the mayor welcomed us at the city hall, and after a short meeting we went off for our last stretch of the day towards Coimbra.

The first week in Portugal came to an end and we are looking forward for a relaxing weekend. See you again next week!
