Welcome back to Austria! We continued our journey through Europe in one of the most beautiful regions of Austria, the "Salzkammergut".
An inpressive group of runners took off from the Castle of Mondsee.
The lake invited us for a swim (and some of us went for it!) - especially as the temperatures climbed quite high...
Anna and Lars from "Union Innerschwand" joined our team...
In Weißenbach a group of kids awaited us - despite of the holiday!
...a quick group picture and off we went...
...curious spectators...
...a very scenic run...
We arrived in Steinbach....
...and the runners enjoyed their well-earned refreshments...
Peace can be felt in the heart...
...can I hold the torch?
Yes!
Mayor Franz Kneissl welcomed the runners and received the torch...
Thank you Steinbach for the enthusiastic welcome!
...and thanks to Helmut Auerbach from SV Steinbach/Attersee for the great organisation!
Our fresh runners enjoy some nice miles in the heat...
...the amazing view inspired all of us to run extra miles...
...people joined in spontaneously...
We reached Bad Hall, our today's destination. A special Peace Run function took place:
the Peace Run honours people who inspire and serve humanity in various ways with the Torch Bearer Award.
Ashru Reichel, our Master of Ceremony, introduced the Peace Run to our special guests.
Salil Wilson, the Peace Run World Executive Director, eplained the vision of the Peace Run
Conny Wolf is an artist and a dear friend of us. She draws comic figures and is the creator of the comic figure "OUPS".
Conny Wolf receives the "Sri Chinmoy Torch-Bearer Award" for her constant work to remind people to live in the heart and to believe in the good of mankind. As a role model she lives up to her own philosophy. She inspires and encourages especially children to be happy, nice and good-hearted.
She drew a special picture for us: Oups joins the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run and runs with the heart flame torch. Thank you for this unique gift to the Peace Run Team !! We will frame it and find a very special place for it...
Dr. Herbert Hinterreiter und physio-therapist Christoph Peer receive the "Sri Chinmoy Torch-Bearer Award" for their outstanding service to the people in Africa.
Dr. Herbert Hinterreiter and Christoph Peer are serving selflessly the sick and the poor in Uganda. Since many years they dedicate their spare time and inspire us tremendously with their big heart for Africa and the African people. Thank you and keep going!
A great buffet ended the evening. Thank you all helpers and participants for the heartfelt experience!
