The Peace Run team depart Bulgaria after an amazing week of running and inspirational events. The adventure countinues as we cross the border to Romania.

At the border of the two nations, the Mayor of Silistra passes the torch to the Mayor of Ostrov in a heartfelt gesture of friendship between the two countries.

Together the two Mayors take a step for Peace.

Local children from Ostrov join us to carry the torch.

The Mayor of Ostrov helps with the installation of a Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossom by the banks for the river Danube.

Running our first kilometers in Romania!

The scenery is stunning.

Cristi, the Romanian country coordinator is greeted by the Mayor of Lipnita.

The Mayor surprises us with pizza for the team.

We pay a visit to the school of Lipnita where the children are eagerly waiting.

The school of Lipnita is presented a certificate of appriciation and artwork by Peace founder Sri Chinmoy.

In Lipnita we also visit a most beautiful monastery. The church is ornate with exsquisite artwork which creates a scerene atmosphere of peace and prayer.

We enjoy a wholesome meal offered by the sisters of the monastery.

Sister Maria was extremely warm hearted and gave us a fascinating insight into the history of the monastery and it's miracles.

Farewell to our french team member, Ashcharja who departs home to Paris.

In Aliman the Mayor gives us a hearty and enthusiastic welcome.

The local priest offers sincere words of inspiration.

At the town hall entrance we place a Sri Chinmoy Peace Blossom plaque marking the Danube region as an area of Peace.

The Mayor himself was an avid marthon runner in his day and is inspired to carry the torch a few hundred meters.

Down by the river.

The last run of the day is into the large town of Cernavoda.

We are blessed by the evening sun.
