We all bid a fond farewell to Capetown, our team then started driving north to get in some of the over 1100km we had to drive to get to Lesotho.
All still filled with joy from our school visits, the first few hours on the road just flew by.
The next morning, after a good night's rest at the very welcoming and friendly Karoo Backpackers in Beaufort West, the team wanted to get on the road early to get into Lesotho before dark. Some members of the team made breakfast, others lunch, and a couple jumped on to the team laptops to check emails, process the previous day's photos and upload reports.
Our early start didn't make a quick start as we were met with many road works on the way.
But this gave us time to appreciate the rugged beauty of the Karoo landscape of South Africa
And at this impromptu 'market' we bought some apples from one of the truck drivers waiting in line with us.
Our team found many ways to entertain themselves at each of our stops enroute.
We eventually made it into our spacious accommodation. This was in a small Lesotho village near the town of Roma about 30 minutes drive from the Maseru.
We were treated to the traditional African meal that Abhijatri knocked togther in no time. Two long days on the road, but we are all happy to be in Lesotho and looking forward to visiting schools the following day.
