Frombork - Braniewo

Reported by Devashishu Torpy 41.0 km

Our day begins in Frombork. This city is famous as the hometown of the great scientist Capernicus. Here some young scientists hold the torch.

Another of the grand churches built by the Teutonic knights in this region.

In the background is a solemn statue of the great Capernicus.

Capernicus discovered, long before Galileo, that the earth is revolving around the sun and not the other way around. The Peace Run offers us a similar discovery: the world does not revolve around us, our egos, but we are part of a worldwide family.

Young contemplative Capernicae!

These children are form Lithuania.

We are treated to a tour of the church and castle in Frombork. Ther body of Capernicus is buried in this church.

Pope John Paul II.

Polish border guards join us to run towards the Russian border.

In Braniewo, we are welcomed by the Mayor to a reception.

The Mayor receives a Certificate of Appreciation.

The choir sing a beautiful and energetic song for us.

Our final kilometres in Poland.

Approaching the border with Russia.
