Reported by Yuri Khraputsky 58.0 km

Welcome to Belarus!

As soon as our international team crossed the border a traditional women's choir welcomed our runners.

The city representative of Oshmyani received the torch...

...a first group picture...

...and the ladies took a step for peace!

Very enthusiastic running!

...a strong, new team...

We arrived in the children camp "friendship" near Smorhon.

...the kids lined up for High Five...

It is a lovely camp in the woods. A great place for children to be...

Peace can be felt in the heart...

The children were very smart at the country guessing game...

...passing the torch...

...big smiles...

The highlight was the run out of the camp: all the kids speeded up and joined us for quite a bit...

Thanks for the nice event!

As we reached the community border to Smarhon, more runners awaited us. They joined us for the next 10km.

As we arrived in Smarhon, TV filmed and interviewed us. Zsofia as our youngest team member gave her first interview.

..running into Smarhon...

What is going on here?

We arrived at "Lenin Square" in Smarhon...

People lined up for the meeting...

A special delegation from Novosibirsk visited Smarhon and joined the meeting.

The traditional bread and salt - a guesture of welcome in most of Eastern Europe's countries...

The soldiers from Novosibirsk....

Salute for the Peace Run!

Three shots each....

We received nice gifts...

Once more thank you Smarhon for the warm welcome....

The deputy mayor spoke kind words...

Our first day in Belarus ended with a group picture. See you tomorrow!
