This morning we had a chance to return to one of our favorite places in San Diego, Chula Vista. These bright faces welcomed us to Hawking Steam school 2 with an honor guard.

We had lots of help carrying all the country flags.

We love to see a well planned event. It really means a lot to us how much thought and care you put into our visit.

Dr. Ruiz welcomes the run!

The children naturally became quiet and they all seemed to love the moment of peace.

Dr. Russel assures the children that peace is possible if we all do our part.

Our first Torch Bearer award went to an outstanding student that everyone in the auditorium absolutely loved.

Our second award was presented to a long serving teacher. Once the students heard she would be leaving soon, there were lots of gasps of shock. She contributed so much to the peaceful and fun environment in the school.

Our team loves seeing kids artwork.

Enjoying the good vibrations.

After a wonderful school visit, we hit the road again and headed to Finney Elementary.

Finney Elementary have always been big supporters of the Peace Run and we were excited to meet all the new students.

What a great surprise the team received as we ran in.... a live music performance on ukulele by Crystal Pridmore!

The students had made these wonderful welcome signs featuring our motto.  Special thanks to Stacy Clemetson!

It takes volunteers and staff to make a school truly special and this volunteer was a crowd favorite. As soon as she was welcomed to the stage, everyone applauded. Congratulations Josefina Vega!

The new principal, Rachel Scott, was so enthusiastic about the Peace Run and was eager to have us return in the future. We offerred the Torch Bearer Award to this wonderful teacher that had given her heart and soul to serve the students. Congratulations Kris Hidalgo!

This student in the middle was elected by the students and staff to receive the Torch Bearer Award. She goes out of her way to serve the younger students and to help teaching staff. We could all tell she was going to make the world a better place. Congratulations Adeline Martinez!

It was so charming to see the cultural performances by the children. We loved the costumes.

We were also entertained by a xylophone performance featuring some impressive rhythm.

Thank you teachers!

Our cheer squad did a great job encouraging the teaches to run a lap around the students.

Loving all the smiles!

Three Cheers for the Chewer Squad!!!

We took off at a fast pace to make it to Loma Verde Elementary School so we could quickly devour some lunch.

Parking lot meals are all too common on the run.

Loma Verde Elementary gave us a huge welcome.

Many thanks to Diego Arias for his soulful Land acknowledgement of the Kumeyaay People.

Paz (peace)

Very sincerely feeling peace in our hearts!

Matthew Tessier has been helping the peace-run since 2008.  First as principal and the as an assistant superintendent.  His heart-felt words were very inspiring!

Ryan Santos offered some kind words and encouragement.

Peace is a running river!  Movement is also important for a dynamic harmony.  The kids used dance express their love for peace in a active way!

Great teachers run a lap for the Peace Run!

Students hold the torch and offer goodwill, hopes, dreams and prayers for peace on Earth.

Samartan from San Diego leads the runners to the next ceremony at the World beat Center in Balboa Park.

Makeda Cheatham welcomes the run again for the dedication of a Peace Tree.

In honor of Royal Davis.  Let us try to offer more Light to our youth.  Rest in Peace.

A wonderful end for another lively day on the RUN!
