July 27, 2014 Live from the road

Perrysburg, OH - Port Stanley, ON

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo, Sandro Zincarini 295.0 km

Today, after crossing into Canada, our only task for the day was running.

Jim and Dianna from St. Louis stopped to greet us after passing by a couple of our runners on the road.

They are riding from Seattle, Washington to Maine and wanted to share their goodwill for Peace with us. they smile and wave at the cars who pass them and offers them peace.

Lake Erie was lurking in the background tempting us to jump in after a hot day of running.

It was a long and winding path with some dangerous hurdles to cross.

This bridge was leaning to one side but had to be crossed to get to the lake.

And there it was, in all of its spendour as are all of the Great Lakes.

The shoreline was rough but the Lake seemed as vast as the Ocean.

The cool water was well worth the effort. This is our version of a Hindu-fish.
Can swim a mile upstream in 7 minutes, and goes well with potatoes...

Dennis tries to make it back over the precarious passage.

David from Chicago joins Salil for a while on the road...

David and his family: His Dad and Mom, Peter and Jana, are originally from Slovakia. His brother Alex and their cousins Martin and Kristine all came out to offer their goodwill, hold the torch and take a photo with us. We are so happy and grateful when people stop as they are driving by and offer such enthusiastic support of the Peace Run.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.
