We started our running nice and early on this lovely morning.
Igor is fresh and happy for his stretch.
Jaival and Ujvala fly above the road together!
Dennis and Mahasatya carry the torch for a few kilometers.
The day gets warmer and Sandro runs on.
Yatkara carries the torch in the mid-day heat.
Anna does the first few kilometers for the girl's team.
Amburoha does some creative stretching before her run!
Ready to run with a torch in one hand, a peace sign in the other.
Aparajni runs with the flame blazing.
We met Karen from Kars on the road and she ran a mile out of her way with us.
Dennis Colautti stops his lawn mower to happily hold the torch.
We had some time to take a refreshing break by the waterfront.
Salil runs 7 miles to the Sri Chinmoy Street in North Gower, Arpan joins him for the last couple of miles.
Arriving at the Sri Chinmoy Peace Street!
Robin Chevrier and Colette Chevrier, the owners of the property, came out to greet us.
Colette shows us her beautiful rock garden.
They have a lot of frogs in their pond!
Robin's mother Alice, 92 years young, holds the torch.
We showed them our vehicles and chatted about the Peace Run for a while before leaving, until next time.
Some vintage cars in the area drove by with a wave and a honk.
Our next stop was a park along the Ottawa River Pathway.
We visited an oak tree that was planted in 1974 by Sri Chinmoy, the founder of the Peace Run.
We passed the torch around to all who were present. Pratyaya takes a moment with the torch.
Deepmala holds the torch next.
Afterwards, we sat down for some chips and coconut water.
Arpan, Dennis and Mahasatya ran 10 km along the beautiful bike paths that border the river.
They encoutered lots of geese...
...as well as some buskers...
...and some new friends.
Hey, "SUP?"
Along the way there were many amazing Inukshuk-inspired sculptures.
Appreciating the sculptures.
We ended our day with a tasty Indian meal at the Peace Garden in Byward Market. Thank you, Peace Garden, for providing dinner for our hungry runners.
