Pavaka runs the Peace Torch into the Sharing Party in Rawdon, Quebec!

Bashan and Julie Beaulieu, founders of L'Alliance des Nations, host the event annually on their beautiful property. The Sharing Party is a forum for people from many different spiritual groups, religious organisations and community associations to come together and share inspiration with one another in an open, loving atmosphere. The festival has expanded to 2 days, which are filled with various offerings of creativity and spirituality. Some of these expressions include: lectures, exercises, chants, prayers, music, dance, workshops, and ancient rituals. We were impressed with how many different groups were represented and how harmonious and receptive people were to one another. We are grateful to Bashan and Julie for their vision and peace-building efforts in their community and abroad. Each year the Sharing Party spreads to new countries, this year Morocco and Australia were included.

Bashan and Julie's lovely daughter Galena held the torch with a friend.

Father Jean-Luc Tremlay offered his kind support.

Oriane is a dedicated volunteer each year at the Sharing Party.

Ivan and Mado happily shared the torch and offered their wishes for world peace.

Everyone had a moment of peace with the torch.

Sangit Surabhi performed the soulful compositions of Sri Chinmoy, who believed that music has a very significant role to play in bringing about world peace.

Pavaka gets ready to pass the torch and offer some musical contributions of his own.

Meanwhile, back in Ottawa...

The core Peace Run team had a much deserved day off! They spent this long-weekend Sunday exploring the Nation's Capital and kicking back and relaxing.

Everyone had breakfast at Perfection-Satisfaction-Promise Vegetarian Restaurant, a hidden gem near the University of Ottawa.

Some team members strolled the canal- at a walking pace for a change!

Street performers entertained all the passers-by.

The changing of the guard is a sight to behold as they march from City Hall to Parliament Hill.

Terry Fox, beloved by all Canadians, is commemorated across the nation.

The locks outside of Chateau Laurier.

Sometimes you come across unexpected things in the Byward Market...

No trip to Ottawa is complete without tasting some maple syrup.

The Peace Garden Vegetarian Cafe is revisited by our team members- it seems they cannot get enough!

Devakripa Cohen, the owner, warmly greets us and shares delightful food and conversation.

The Sound and Light Show at Parliament Hill is a must during the summer months. Now the team is rested and ready for the next couple of action-packed weeks on the road!
