We found some more torch runners along the way, this statue was installed near Lansdowne Park following the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games.

We ran by Aberdeen Pavillion, a historic building in Lansdowne Park.

Then we followed a route along Bank street in Old Ottawa South.

Govinda, who was working at the time, made us some of her world famous chai, she makes it from scratch the traditional Indian way. It definitely made us run faster!

Everyone enjoyed browsing all of the colourful and fascinating merchandise from different parts of the world. There was an extensive collection of singing bowls, meditation and yoga supplies, books, scarves, purses, decorations, incense and gems.
Tout le monde a apprécié explorer les produits très colorés et fascinants, importés de différentes parties du monde. Il y avait une vaste collection de bols chantants (bols Tibétains), articles de méditation et yoga, livres, foulards, sacs à main, décorations, encens et pierres précieuses.
Victoria, our newest team member from New York (originally from Colombia) found the perfect journal to write down all of her Peace Run adventures to come as she runs across the eastern part of Canada, from Ottawa to Halifax.

Down the street, we visited the statue of Sri Chinmoy, Dreamer of World Peace. The statue was installed one year ago on this block and has become a fixture of the neighborhood. We paused for a moment to feel the peace that emanated from this small city corner.
Juste au bout de la rue, nous avons visité la statue de Sri Chinmoy, Visionnaire de la Paix Mondiale. La statue a été installée il y a un an sur cette pierre et est devenu l’aménagement du voisinage. Nous avons fait une pause afin de ressentir la Paix émanée dans ce petit angle de la ville.
While we were running near Dow's Lake, we met Fran, a friendly runner who was eager to hold the Peace Torch.

In a park across from the Christchurch Cathedral on Sparks street, we met with Bob and Joan Graham.
Au parc, face de la Cathédrale Christchurch sur la rue Sparks, nous avons rencontré Bob et Joan Graham.
It was an intimate ceremony in which we presented them both with the Torch-Bearer Award for their lifetime of service in ministry, addiction recovery services and work with interfaith relations. Even after retirement, they served at the Christchurch Cathedral for a decade (Bob joked that a clergyman only retires when he no longer has a pulse).
C’était une cérémonie bien intime dans laquelle nous avons offert aux deux invités le Médaillon d’Honneur du Flambeau de la Paix pour leur vie de service au ministère, service de rétablissement de la dépendance et travail avec relations inter-confessionnelles. Même après leur retraite, ils ont continué à offrir leurs services à la Cathédrale Christchurch depuis une décennie (Bob plaisantait qu’un homme du clergé se retire seulement quand il n’a plus de pulsation).

Karnayati has been a personal friend of theirs for years and is the one who brought their important work to our attention. She shared some words on how they have inspired her and served so many in their community.

We visited the Alternative Sports Camp at the Fisher Park Community Centre. The children try out two new sports each day.

Bob and Joan accompanied us to the ceremony in their snazzy new Peace Run t-shirts.

We crossed the bridge into Gatineau where we were met by Jacques Ouimette who kindly allowed the whole team to see the extraordinary Mosaicultures plant sculpture exhibit and served as our tour guide throughout. It is themed around the history of Canada, so our international team was able to learn a lot about the country they are running through.
Nous avons traversé le pont vers Gatineau où nous avons été reçu par Jacques Ouimette qui a gentiment permis que tout le groupe de coureur puisse voir gratuitement l’extraordinaire Exposition de sculptures de plantes des Mosaïcultures ; il a été également notre guide pour le tour. Le thème de l’Exposition est l’histoire du Canada, alors notre équipe internationale a pu en apprendre beaucoup sur le pays dans lequel ils courent.

Sadly, it was our dear team member Harita's last day on the Peace Run until she joins us again in Halifax in a couple of weeks. In the meantime her great energy, encouragement and enthusiasm will be missed.
