The Peace Run visited South Dakota as part of a 50-state run in 1991
In December 1990, Peace Run was represented at the ‘Wiping Away of Tears’ ceremony to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wounded Knee massacre. Here Governor Mickelson of South Dakota is holding the torch with Native American leaders.
