In the late morning we arrived at the border between The Netherlands and Germany
The mayors from both border towns Oldambt and Bunde greeted the Peace Run (and each other).
Dutch-German oneness.
They ran a few steps together with us. Bunde city Representative Harm van Vught even ran the full 5K with us to Bunde.
Bye bye Holland.
Hello Germany!
New country, new joy.
In the town of Apen the mayor and local runners were waiting for us.
The mayor gave a nice speech to welcome us.
The Peace Run banner and the flag of Apen.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
We ran one kilometer together out of the town.
Runners from soccer club TV Apen.
Next meeting: town hall of Bad Zwischenahn.
The mayor's representative Mr. Finke received us and lit a peace candle, which they will keep burning in the city hall.
We journeyed onward through the German countryside...
...until we arrived at our final destination of Oldenburg.
Honorary mayor Germaid Eilers-Dörfler received the Peace Run on behalf of the city of Oldenburg.
Official announcement of our arrival.
Mrs. Eilers-Dörfler gave a heart-warming speech.
Thank you Oldenburg for your hospitality.
Persian restaurant Safran offered us free meals. It was some of the best food we ever tasted! Our gratitude to chef Faroogh Ghezelayagh for offering us such gastronomical delight.
