Český Těšín - Zywiec

Reported by Josef Sverma, Ondřej Mocný 99.0 km

Sunny day in Cesky Tesin by the border with Poland. It's last school in Czech republic for us.

It was a little bit sleepy morning.

But a very peaceful morning.

With the torch in hand everyone cheered up.

Proper high-fives to say goodbye.

Direction: Poland.

Till we see you again Ceska republika.

And good morning Polsko.

Rain doesn't affect happy people.

And we were a happy crowd in Ustron.

School in Ustron.

A Oneness-Home, our Earth.

Home of everyone and for everyone.

When you get an injury, your true friends will carry you like this.

Peace deep within.

Torch officially received by the city of Ustron.

Some students brought a candle to get fire from the Peace Torch and bring it home. What a great idea!

Teacher-friends.

We were treated the same lunch as children and it was excellent! We wish our school cooked like this.

Sleep like a baby, run like a bengali tiger.

Merry runners in Wisla.

These children stopped by totally by accident when we passed by.

The teacher was very kind to wish our runners love and harmony in the team.

In a hot day like this fruit comes handy.

Wisla is famous for its ski jumping stadiums. In fact, the world champion in ski jump, Adam Malisz, lives and trains here.

Natalia speeding up towards the hills.

Time to press forwards across some hills.

With a smile it goes much faster.

In Szczyrk we were welcomed in a style. This is what they wear at the Tourist Information Office it seems.

The Beskid mountain range continue in here from Czechia and Slovakia. The region retains similar culture and habits as in those countries.

Hamburger with vitamins?

This icecream doesn't have much vitamins but in a hot day it's a necessity.

Curious spectators in castle park in Zywiec.

Local runners took us on their favourite track round the green park.

We added some more visitors to our team on the way.

We finished at the castle where the Mayor was awaiting us. It was a heartfelt meeting with someone who really understands what we are doing. It's inspiring to meet people who are on our side.

Beautiful statue of Pope Jan Paul II in front of the castle. Many years ago the Pope has held our Peace torch as well and placed his prayers and blessings into it. It was a most sublime and blessingful experience.

Time to organize ourselves before the next long stretch.

Finally, the summer has come to us. And we have come to Poland! People are very sweet here but at the same time they have a lot of resilience and strength. It's an interesting combination.
