Vernon - Revelstoke

Reported by Brahmata Michael 138.0 km

Thank you to the Vernon Sandman Hotel and Suites where we were kindly offered discounted rooms. We enjoyed our stay!

Brahmata's Aunt Rae, who is a Vernon local, came out to hold the torch and make her wish for world peace.

Some of our team members met with The Vernon Pacers, who were having coffee after their early morning run.

We ran to Memorial Park in Armstrong, BC.

Our ceremony was held in a nice gazebo, we began with a few words about the philosophy of the Peace Run. Mainly that each and every individual has a role to play in bringing about peace on earth. As we cultivate peace and harmony in our own hearts and our own lives, we are able to share it with those around us and it spreads into our communities, our countries and the world at large.

Everyone introduced themselves and passed the torch.

Tavishi, our Australian team member, is running the entire North American route!

Bob Smith from the Legion came out with Richard L'Hirondelle who is of Metis background.

We presented our certificate of appreciation to Lars Larsen from Parks and Rec.

Larissa Fitchet from Parks and Rec also held our torch.

We gathered at the cenotaph for a moment of silence in honor of the veterans.

Avis Overby, President of the Legion, read out a peace proclamation and told us a little bit about the work that the Royal Canadian Legion is involved in.

We enjoyed a short Peace Walk with everyone who came.

Back on the road!

British Columbia's beauty makes running a very joyful experience!

Yatkara continues running, unphased by the midday heat.

We were very happy to have our new friends Joseph and Owen from Malakwa run with us for a little while.

Mary Ann and Tara of the Malakwa Learning Academy also joined us for a spontaneous ceremony.

Pierre gives Pujari a french lesson out in the wilderness, "lac et montagne".

Fleurs.

When we opened our door at the "Log Barn" near Enderby, we had a surprise visitor.

Our t-rex and velociraptor friends joined us for a Prehistoric Peace Run!

Bear with me for a moment.

Even with all of the interesting sculptures, "The Goat Walk" is the main attraction at the Log Cabin.

...whatever floats your goat.

Tavishi met a little Aussie pal!

We met with Terri at the Enchanted Forest and shared our Peace Run presentation with her.

Pierre offered her a certificate of appreciation for her warm welcome.

When we entered the forest it was like stepping into another world, we truly were enchanted by it.

Our team members spent some time in the fairy tale houses.

Pierre and Josef decided to branch out a little.

After the Grouse Grind, we had no problem climbing up the stairs to the tree house.

The Enchanted Forest was kind enough to offer us their adventure experience! Hayley helped us to put our harnesses on and got us going.

We climbed walls...jumped off of a high platform...

and got dropped off of the huge swing!

YAY!

We struck a pose with the guides, Hayley (from Australia), Tom and Pat. Thank you for such a fun afternoon!
