Seminole, OK - Oklahoma City, OK

Reported by Arpan DeAngelo 58.0 mi

We are extremely grateful to the Holiday Inn Express in Shawnee for their kind hospitality and generosity for our very spacious and comfortable rooms.

Nikolaus and Arpan met some new friends on their morning run towards Oklahoma City.

Meanwhile, Banshidhar was putting in a couple of miles.

Kaspars ran the Torch through McCLoud.

Arpan could not find any sidewalks but the grass was just fine, for a while anyway.

Wow. That airplane came close.

The women's team starts their run with a moment of silence with cooperation from the curious locals watching in the background.

I guess they weren't interested.

Svetlana rejoices with all the greenery around her.

Long road ahead.

Here comes the Peace Train following the Peace Torch.

Are they happy to be leaving today or happy to have been here?

Some of the people along our route were thrilled to share the Peace Torch.

Lots of Peace in this Torch.

Harita stopped at a local tag sale and met some very nice people.

Taking a break from his gardening duties to reflect on peace.

"Hey, wait up. I want to hold the Torch too."

Harita was running past the Sac and Fox Nation Native American Center and these two staff members were thrilled to share the Peace Torch and offer their goodwill.

Later in the day we visited the Boys and Girls Club in Oklahoma City.

To help the children find out where we are all from we supply this huge colorful map of the world.

These children were quite adept in their geographic knowledge.

Svetlana demonstrates a traditional Russian dance.

Arpan's Statue of Liberty is always an easy guess for the kids.

The children find peace in the heart.

The counselors were quite peaceful during our peace meditation on the heart.

A wonderful group of children and staff gave us much joy here.

Director of the Boys and Girls Club, A. Jaye Johnson, accepts our small gifts of appreciation.

Coincidentally they have their own Torch Club.

Time to go outside for a Peace Run around the club grounds.

A. Jaye directs the Peace Train.

Jumping for joy and peace..

Waiting to share the Torch.

After our peace 'train' we offered the children some time to hold the Peace Torch and think of peace and any good wishes or prayers they may want to feel and share.

Holding it high to prevent any problems.

Serious silent wish.

A. Jaye was quite sincere and helpful as he offers his goodwill with the Torch. He has been here for about 16 years as Director and brings much needed peace and happiness into the lives of the many children who attend here.

Everyone was happy at the end of an eventful program.

Before leaving the children get to check out our route map on the side of our RV Camper after their Peace Train.

Three women on our team had to leave this evening unfortunately. They share the Torch one last time as they hold the gifts we offered them. We wish them well and hope they can return at some point in the future.

Our three fearless runners, Rupasi, Svetlana and Virangini offer their last smiles before 'parting in such sweet sorrow'.

We traded in our old Peace Run car....

...for a new one.

Little Kaspars says:

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you.
