With less than three weeks to go, excitement is building for the 2025 Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run – Around Australia. This year marks a historic milestone: the Peace Torch will be carried hand to hand, heart to heart, around the entire Australian continent for only the third time in the event’s history.

The journey kicks off on April 24 in Canberra, beginning a 111-day odyssey that will span the country and beyond. But before the runners hit the road, the final preparations are in full swing.

Getting the Peace Torch Ready
The Peace Torches, the heart and soul of the event, are undergoing a 'health check' and a little tune-up from Abhijatri. Yes, there’s more than one torch! Each team will carry 2 to 3 torches to ensure that the symbol of peace stays lit even during the long stretches on open roads and through endless kilometres. After all, even a torch needs a little rest and recovery along the way.

Meet the Support Vans: Garuda and Nandi
Behind every great runner is a solid support team. Enter Garuda and his younger brother, Nandi - the trusty support vans that will follow the runners across the nation. Garuda, who has been with the Peace Run since 2017, has transported countless runners on their journeys through Australia.

Now, Nandi, freshly arrived from Melbourne, is joining the family and being equipped by Rathin with Peace Run signs. These vans are more than just transport—they’re the runners' home away from home, carrying everything from cooking equipment to tents, torches, water, and all the essentials for the road ahead. Here Sarankhuu is taking a video to introduce Nandi to the team coming from all over the world.

The First Leg: Canberra to Adelaide
The first section of this monumental Peace Run will take the team from Canberra to Adelaide, passing through Melbourne and even the beautiful island of Tasmania. A diverse group of runners will join the team, hailing from Australia, Brazil, China, Finland, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, New Zealand, Russia, and South Africa.
As this small team takes each step forward, they carry with them not only the Peace Torch, but the hopes and dreams of countless others, and the belief that through simple acts of kindness and compassion, we can all help make the world a little brighter.
