Kusadasi

Reported by Salil Wilson 3.0 km

We gathered at the Peace and Friendship Square in the heart of beautiful Kusadasi, right on the waterfront.

The weather was perfect and some of the Kusadasi track team were warming up to run with us.

Salil, Orcin, Sakir and Agraha had a great time getting to know one anthoer as we planned this event. Sakir was invaluable in making it all happen as he works for the Turkish Sports Federation.

Some of Kusadasi's local track stars.

A group photo before we began.

The Kusadasi police very kindly closed of the road for us as we ran into town.

We ran all the way through town and many of the Kusadasi residents were very excited to see us.

Our Peace Run choir performed a song Sri Chinmoy composed for the nation of Turkey. These are the words,
"Turkey, Turkey, Turkey, Turkey!
You are religion faiths' master-key.
Prayerful mosques, churches and temples –
In your heart, they all ring oneness-bells.
Indeed, culture rich, very rich, you are,
Your heart's home-doors flung afar."

One of Kusadasi's Sports Administrators welcomed us to Friendship Square.

We presented one of Sri Chinmoy's Jharna Kala paintings to the city of Kusadasi entitled "Universal Brotherhood."

Then we had a parade of nations - here is Karabi representing Costa Rica.

Akanda representing Mongolia.

We finished with a rousing rendition of the World Harmony Run song complete with actions.
