Lake Mary, FL

Reported by Santiva Morrison

We were very excited to participate in the second consecutive year at the Lake Mary Celebrates 9th Annual City Arts and Crafts Festival.

To open the festivities, president of the Historical Society of Lake Mary, Jane Kenovich, introduced city officials. From left to right, Jane Kenovich, Gary Brender, Lake Mary City Commissioner, Tina Calderon, Seminole Co. School Board, Jo Ann Lucarelli, Lake Mary City Commissioner and David Mealor, Mayor City of Lake Mary.

At the Peace Run/World Harmony Run tent, we invited children to make their own peace torches and draw pictures to participate at our Peace Run drawing contest where the theme was ‘Imagine Peace Here and Now’ and ‘Happiness’.

We will announce the winners of the contest during the ceremony after our Peace Walk on Monday, May 5th at 6:00 PM at the Lake Mary Historical Museum, where we will have a ceremony for the 27 yrs of running for peace and harmony.

Here is Nancy who drove all the way from Tampa this morning to help with the event.
Thank you Nancy!!

Many children and parents stopped by our tent to make their own wish for world peace by holding the ‘real’ torch.

There were tents with food, arts and crafts and games for the little ones. Here is Dave in action playing a few games with the kids.

Also many citizens in the area participated by demonstrating their talents by singing and dancing.

We had a special guest in our tent, Miss St. Petersburg U.S.A., Amanda Cooksey, stopped by to hold the peace torch. Thank you for stopping by!

We would like to thank the City of Lake Mary for their generosity in allowing us to use a tent for the festival, specially the president of the Lake Mary Historical Society who organized this fantastic event!

See you all May 5th as the Peace Run Team arrives in Orlando!
