Orvieto - Montepulciano

Reported by Dipavajan Renner, Stefano Cenni 70.0 km

A misty morning in Orvieto as the sun breaks through...

...our first spectator...

What would Italy be without Coffee! These machines are the Ferrari's amongst all the other brands...

The Volleyball Team of Orvieto awaited us at the main square...

...we entered the city hall and the mayor gave us a warm welcome...

Thank you for the nice gifts!

Dante Alighieri...

A final group picture at the balcony...

The mayor carried the torch for the first metres of the day...

...we reached the dome...

The huge doors opened just for us and the priest welcomed the runners...

...kind words...

...the priest blessed the torch...

Thank you Orvieto for the welcome!

We enjoyed a few glimpses of the magnificent dome...

...good bye Orvieto...

..a last greeting from the distance...

...back on the countryside. A sheep stampede..

..on every hill you can find a most scenic village...

As we reached Montepulciano a group of runners welcomed us...

...ready for the final run of the day...

...we entered the city...

...it was real fun to run through these old, narrow streets...

...reaching the main square...

...the city representative received the torch...

..a big surprise: a traditional group of drummers gave s a stunning, colorful show with their flags...

A very picturesque perfromance...

Thank you for running with us. What a nice event!

Once again all gratitude to the police in Italy!

We enjoyed the setting sun in Toscany....
