Chelsea, MI - Detroit, MI

The Comfort Inn in Chelsea donated rooms for the whole team. So this morning we started the day fully rejuvenated. Thank you so much for having us!

This morning, for the first 6 miles, we had an enthusiastic new member on the woman's team, Rachel Surowiec.

Rachel and her husband Dakota really helped us with the mileage! Who knows, next time they may want to go all around America.

The first meeting of the day was at the city hall of Westland. The Deputy Mayor and a few staff members joined us.

Craig Hebert from the WLND Press covered the event.

Further down the road, the men's team arrived at the Montessori Center of Dearborn.

We all enjoyed the moment of silence, and some were obviously concentrating very hard.

And let's not forget the songs.

Every one had a chance to make a wish for world peace.

We found a very eager engine for our peace train.

Montessori is always a signature for success and the meeting went really well.

Our following ceremony was at ACCESS, the Arab Community Center in Dearborn.

We played the guess my country game and the kids also had us guessing where they were from.

We watched the video presentation of the Peace Run.

They asked many questions about the run.

You could feel the peace in every centimeter of the room when we did the moment of silence.

Then we all ran outside to light the torch, pass it, and run together.

We had a really great time with everyone and we learned a lot! Thank you ever so much for your waves of enthusiasm.

And the painting actually had the Arabic word for love on it.

Our last meeting of the day was at the Plymouth Educational Center.

Puroga had no difficulty getting every one to guess his country: How do you feel when you have not had lunch?

The World Harmony Run was the climax of the ceremony.

Homagni, our Australian runner, would like to thank Dr. Timothy Dehr from Performance Health Chiropractic for treating his lower back and knee pain. He was extremely kind and very experienced in treating sports related injuries.

To end the day, we were invited to a very delicious dinner. Chelsea, pictured here holding the torch, was the best waitress we have had so far on the run. Every dish we had was delicious. Chapeau guys!
