Pisa

Reported by Dipavajan Renner, Stefano Cenni

We left our most beautiful accommodation place in Pietrasanta.

A big "Thank You" to the monastery for supporting the Peace Run!

We embarked for our last day in Pisa. The “C. Collodi” primary school was first.

A hearty welcome....

Peace can be felt in the heart....

Our song is always a highlight....

...and a dynamic run around the school...

Thank you for the great meeting!

Right after we visited old friends of the Peace Run: the Mazzini secondary school...

...the kids carried the torch into the meeting...

Thanks for the friendship!

Our journey from school to school continued. The 'Filzi' primary school was assembled on the field....

High Five...

A minute of silence...

....and joyful actions....

A most difficult task: to gather everybody for a group picture...

Our Italian coordinator enjoyed a bath in the crowd...

Thank you for the most inspiring meeting!

After a lunch break we went to the “Ducchi Salviati” primary school in Migliarino Pisano.

Smaller and older kids alike - everybody can take a step for Peace...

...a lap for Peace...

...and big smiles everywhere...

The kids stormed over the field...

Thank you Migliarino Pisano!

Back in Pisa we met our good friend Elena. She helped us tremendously to setup all the school meetings...

Our last event brought us to the Church of Francesco di Assisi in Pisa.

We met His Eminence, the Arch Bishop of Pisa, Giovanni Paolo Benotto.

He kindly received the Peace Torch...

Also the monks present passed the torch from hand to hand. Thank you for the friendly welcome!

After the meeting we awarded Elena with our Torch Bearer Award for her outstanding servive to the Peace Lovers in the world!

Thank you Pisa and Italy for the great week we spent. We are looking forward to be back soon!
