Jyvaskyla - Otava

Reported by Marlen Bernhard, Palash Bosgang 117.0 km

Our first meeting of the day was at Säynätsalo Under age Refugee Center.

We received a warm reception from a young man originally from Afghanistan.

It was so wonderful for our international team to meet with people from Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq.

We all played the "guess my country" game and enjoyed it very much!

We all need to feel the peace within our hearts.

Passing the Peace Torch as well as our hopes and dreams for peace.

Some fast runners heading out for a loop with the torch!

Some preferred a more relaxed pace with the Peace Torch!

Palash is eating AGAIN. (She only ran 2k).

Local Finnish delicacies were graciously served to the team.

We were so happy to present Katja Köykkä from the Center with a certificate of appreciation as well as a beautiful painting by Peace Run Founder, Sri Chinmoy. The work that they do and the love they pour into it inspired the whole team immensely.

Here we are at Multamäki children's camp. It was such a beautiful location deep in the Finnish woods.

Teaching the World Harmony Run Song!

Marlen and the whole team was so grateful to the camp for supplying us with a delicious lunch.

The Team would like to express it's heartfelt gratitude to Seija (pictured) and Erkki Urtti for their generous hospitality in housing and feeding our team. We so enjoyed our stay and even more so, meeting such lovely people.

Iiris and Seija have been dear friends and colleagues for many years.

Back on the road again!

Puruvaj just loves offering the torch to the many people he meets while running.

We stayed in a beautiful accommodation surrounded by a vast lake. The peace was tangible.
