The Grand Finale of the Peace Run took place in Chantry Park, Ipswich
There has been a Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile in Chantry Park since 1987
The team of runners each have their national flag for the final ceremony (Medhavati with the Mongolian flag)
People from over 25 countries are gathered for the event including Canada, Brazil, Iceland ....

On this special occasion the Peace Run team are offering the town of Ipswich a sculpture - a Monument of Peace
To accept the sculpture, which will be a permanent feature of Chantry Park, is the guest of honour, the Mayor of Ipswich
Receiving the Torch Bearer award is Cliff Reed who has worked tirelessly in Ipswich towards inter faith harmony.
The sculpture is unveiled by the Mayor and the British sculptor, Kaivalya Torpy

Ashrita Furman, the Guiness Record Holder of the most Guiness Records, thanks the Mayor for creating this place where people can come and contemplate Peace

The artist, Kaivalya Torpy, displays an article in the Scotsman by Professor of Poetry at the University of Aberdeen, Janaka Alan Spence. The article features another of his Peace sculpture's that made international headlines during the floods in Prague.
