While most of the team headed back to Kathmandu on the early bus, Shivani and Harita got up especially early to see the sunrise. We went to Saragkot, a hilltop village just out of Pokhara which is world renowned for its spectacular mountain sunrise views. We were not disappointed!
The 4am wake up and 20 minute steep uphill climb from where we were dropped off was well worth it, as you can see!
Above the clouds peace engulfs the vast panorama.
Even though the photo looks like it could have been photo-shopped, Shivani was really there!
If you look really hard you can see the moon high on the right hand side.
The first rays reached magnificent Machhapuchhare first.
The sun glistening on the peaks of the three higest visable mountains, Dhaulagiri (8167m) in the west, Machhapuchhare (6997m) in the centre, and the rounded peak of Annapurna II (7937m) to the east.
The power of peace can only be felt and never adequately described.
Two happy peace lovers...if you cannot make it out trekking in the mountains, going to Sarangkot has to be the next best thing!

For some reason Shivani seemed to enjoy the downhill a lot more than the ascent.

As we headed down we gave away the last of our Peace Run pens to the children we met along the way. Needless to say they were all very happy to receive them. Even this tiny puppy liked the idea of a Peace Run pen!
The vastness and beauty of the mountains with their quietly spoken, hard working, kind and loving inhabitants perfectly epitomised our Oneness-Home Peace Run experience in Nepal. Those of us who were visiting Nepal felt truly blessed to have been part of it and will go home with much inspiration and gratitude. Until next time.
