The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run turns 30 this year.
The 30th Anniversary Peace Run in Australia started this morning with a visit to St Joseph's Primary School at Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.
The Peace Run team was warmly greeted by Deputy Principal Sally Smith and all the students.
Selected students presented their Prayers for Peace showing a real care for the quality of peace.
Cultural captains, Eamon and Charlotte, accepted a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of their school.
All the students enjoyed holding the torch and making a wish for peace ...
... prior to running several laps of their oval.
Our next visit was to the Caboolture Montessori School which, situated in bushland outside Caboolture, was a delightful experience.
Our team was greeted firstly, by an impressive Entrance sign welcoming the Peace Runners to the school, and then the students were lined up, welcoming us with high fives as we proceeded into the school.

... and the students reciprocated with a song of their own about Peace.
We then all headed outside for the Peace tree planting. Two of our stronger team members, assisted by students lifted the the new Olive tree into its place.

On our way out, teachers Chris and Teneille were keen to hold the Peace Torch.
The third school the Team visited today was Beerwah State School. The principal, Janet Austen, met us and led us to a classroom where Atul presented the Peace Run to year 6.
The children asked some great questions and Ryan received the Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the school.
Our final meeting was at Australia Zoo.
The Peace Run had visited the zoo in 2013, when the zoo was dedicated as a Sri Chinmoy Peace-Blossom.

Some of the girls on the Peace Run team planted a beautiful pink tinged frangipani tree.
It was hard not to get distracted by all the fascinating birds and animals on the way.
A team of zoo workers met us and Becky received the Peace Torch.
We had extra time at the zoo and a few of us had some happy moments holding a koala.
It was great to have Julie and Sonia, 2 locals on our international team. They drove and navigated our way to all the destinations.
