Our Florida 2018 Peace Run began in Miami with a typical Florida winter day, sunny, hot and surrounded by Palm Trees!

Our first stop of the day was the beautiful Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Singing the Peace Run song.

Local Miami coordinators, Drishti and Durjaya with Father George, who welcomed us most sincerely.

Father George blessing the Peace Torch.

We offered our Certificate of Appreciation and an artwork by Peace Run founder, Sri Chinmoy to the Church.

Many friendly Congregation members were eager to share their prayers for peace.

Even the happy donut seller held the torch while feeding donuts to hungry patrons- perhaps a never done before feat!

Our mens team with Durjaya, the local coordinator. Some of them have known each other for a long time!!

We were thrilled to have so many local members join our team!

Local Peace Runners, Miviam, Svarnadee and Svarnapadma sharing their common love of peace.

Our second visit of the day was to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection where we were warmly welcomed by Reverend Jose Ortez. Much gratitude to local Peace Runner, Svarnapadma, who introduced the Peace Run as the service was all in Spanish!

Reverend Ortez spoke at length about peace and the Peace Run.

We were greatly honored that Reverend Ortez blessed our Peace Torch during the Holy Communion.

The torch was passed around the congregation during communion.

We were most grateful to Reverend Ortiz for most enthusiastically embracing our message and team!

Our final visit of the day was to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Bait ul Naseer Mosque.

We were most warmly welcomed by this wonderful group of people and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious homemade lunch which they served us.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is an International Organisation which spans over 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Its current headquarters are in the United Kingdom.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian, and follows his teachings. It is a leading Islamic organization to spread the ideals of peace and share the message "Love for all hatred for none". Ahmad taught his followers to wage a bloodless, intellectual “jihad of the pen” to defend Islam, and the International Community continues to spread Ahmad’s teachings of moderation and restraint.

We spoke about the message of the Peace Run and shared our common commitment to peace and oneness in the World family.

Then it was time to hold the torch! Many members of the community, particularly the women, preferred not to be photographed, but still enthusiastically took part!

The kids were super enthusiastic peace train participants!

All our gratitude to our new friends from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for embracing us so warmly into their dynamic and inspiring family!

Just in case you forgot we are in Florida!

Dressing appropriately for the occasion can be fun!

Sunset at Miami Beach, a perfect end to a wonderful first day in Florida!

May my life be between
The sunrise-beauty and
The sunset-peace.
