...we returned to Bjelovar and continued our route. The beautiful countryside paid us off for all the hills...
...aproaching Daruvar....
...despite the hot Sunday afternoon the mayor welcomed our team.
Daruvar is the home of a Peace School. Many students attended the arrival of the torch!
..a brief presentation...
...and nice peace poems...
...some students explained us the function of their school...
...Daruvar took some symbolic steps for peace!
Thank you Daruvar for the warm welcome and the hospitality!
It was "Strudel" - time! Here are the charts: Daniela 4 pieces, Sandra 3 pieces, Luiza 3 pieces, Goga none (but 5 coffees instead..), the boys were nowhere...
...Luiza and Daniela paid the price with a nice uphill...
...back in the country side...
...we were very close to the border...
...time for ice cream...
In Nova Gradiška a group of local athletes awaited us....
...together we reached the main square...
..it was a very mixed group that assembled on the square...
The mayor received the torch...
...and a traditional choir performed for us!
...time for everybody to pass the torch....
Thank you Nova Gradiška for the heartfelt meeting! We really enjoyed coming here and meeting all the friendly people!
Good bye Croatia! Thank you for all the hospitality and the friendship! See you again soon!
