Twisp - Bridgeport

Reported by Hastakamala Diaz 18.0 mi

Our day follows stunning views of rolling hills and flowing water.

Plus little birds chirping.

Our first visit for the day is the Saturday morning Farmers Markets. An opportunity to buy some fresh fruit and veg, meet the local growers and browse the craft shops.

Stota and Daulot's friend Annie with a big smile.

Peace!

Making a swan origami for the team.

Thank you Twisp we love your town and hope to visit again.

Owners of the local Napa Auto Parts store let us use their parking space and wanted to pass the torch.

Terry and Steve Dixon gave garden greens and refreshments to the team.

Olivia is the first to go out running starting outside a little church.

And meeting friends on the way.

Nayaja speeding along.

Nayaja still speeding along.

Noemi, Nina and Emmy from Brewster.

Lunch by the Columbia river in Brewster. We had a delicious salad with quinoa using fresh greens and vegetables we'd bought from the markets.

The magnificent Colombia River.

Preetidutta preparing for the miles ahead.

We met some friends in Bridgeport.

Oscar holds the peace torch.

The Grand Coulee Dam. We stopped to get some pics from the viewing platform.

Councilman Tom Poplawski comes to meet us informally to have a chat about our adventures. The city of Grand Coulee is located between Coulee City and Electric City. Tom enjoyed some cake and ice cream with us it felt like a family gathering. Thank you Tom it was a memorable gathering.

We celebrate Stota and Daulot's birthdays which are around this time and fairly close together. Happy Birthdays!!! We've had so much fun getting to know the area in Washington state which you both know and love. Thank you for sharing that love with us.

He joined us for our after dinner get together.

Sing along. The first song we sang was "This land is your land, this land is my land" by Woody Guthrie. Sri Chinmoy loved this song so much he wrote a verse starting with "This heart is your heart, this heart is my heart"

Some of us wrapped up in our warmest clothes to see the laser show at the Dam. It tells the history of the area and how the dam was built. A most fascinating story. A huge undertaking that produces a lot of power and irrigation for people. An educational and entertaining end to a full day. A big thank you to everyone on the team and all the smiling faces we met.

"Peace we achieve when we do not expect anything from the world, but only give, give and give unconditionally what we have and what we are. Sri Chinmoy
