Dublin - Dundalk

We start our day with a meeting with Lord Mayor of Dublin, Criona Ni Dhalaigh, at the Mansion House in Dublin City Centre.

The Lord Mayor had an early start and has home come to meet us and welcome us despite having to leave shortly after for a flight to China.

Our day of running begins as we leave the Mansion House.

Running through the old streets of Dublin...

...and jumping at Dublin's wall of fame.

We pay a visit to Gandharva Loka music shop which is owned by one of our Irish Coordinators.

Our Russian runner, Paramanyu relaxes in the sound cradle before a long day of running.

Crossing the famous Ha'penny bridge.

Rasmivan is joined by two local runners from Lusk AC.

In the afternoon we pay a visit to Ardgillan Castle in North Dublin. The sunshine welcomes us.

The natural beauty of the demesne is stunning.

The spring flowers have blossemed and are showing their colour.

A special thanks to Danielle at ArdGillan Castle for giving the team a facinating tour.

After lunch we run by the sea.

Gints meets some locals as we run onwards to Drogheda.

At the edge of Drogheda we are greeted by Drogheda and district athletics club.

Ciara carries the Peace torch through her home town.

Thanks to a wonderful friendly bunch of runners. We look forward to to seeing them one day again on the road.

Our local runner, Ambarish, leads the team into Dundalk.

Sarah Mc Eneaney welcomes the Peace Run to Dundalk.

Sarah is the organisor for the local Parkrun and works very selflessly with many local volunteers to put on the race in Dundalk every Saturday at 9.30am. The following morning we participate in the Parkrun.

Some locals gather to make a wish for peace.

That evening we are hosted by Deputy Mayor of Newry Gillian Fitzpatrick in Newry Civic offices. Gillian greets us with a hearthy welcome. She herself is a very active person and has completed marathons, including one 50km race.

We are then treated to a sumptuous dinner.

That night we are provided accommodation in the beautiful, traditional Canal court Hotel in Newry. Thank you for a lovely stay and all the kind words from the friendly staff.

We are very grateful to Blazing salads on Drury Street for a providing a most wholesome delicious lunch. There salads are truly blazing. Thank you also to our local coordinator Natalia Romonova for her fantastic organisation.

Natalia's son, Alex, had a great time on the Peace Run this year.

Thanks also to our local coordinators Paula Flood and Elena Agarkov. Paula did a superb job in looking after the International team.
