The Peace Run returned to Italy and we went to Porto Sant' Elpidio at the Adriatic Sea. The first steps along the coast were energizing and inspiring...
First we went to the first primary school\: "Gianni Rodari"...
...a very enthusiastic response by the kids....
Thanks for the meeting!
The organisation-pressure brings even our strongest organisers to the ground...
...a beautiful morning....
...runners joined us on our way to the local park in Porto Sant' Elpidio, were a One-mile course was about to be inaugurated as a Peace Mile....
...even the palm trees were lovingly decorated....
A special Thank You to Mrs. Milena Sebastiani, City Representative of Porto Sant' Elpidio, for the enthusiastic support....
...the revelation of the plaque...
...the ceremony ended with the Peace Run song and the passing of the torch....
Thank you for the nice event!
Sandro's mother was leading the runners....
...and we reached the "Nocola Pennesi" primary school...
...the kids passed the torch very enthusiastically....
...many smiling faces...
...and a music performance by the choir...
...the running turned into a real stampede - we really had fun!
Thank you for the warm welcome!
...Italy is famous for world-class food. One speciality is "Mozzarella di Bufala"
Eszter, our Hungarian team member, got hungry...
...here is one little tasty friend....
Chilly home-grown....
...Sandro's mother gave us a course in home-made Pasta...
From Spaghetti to Ravioli - you need the right skills...
...and the right tools...
Finally we reached the "Scuola Edmondo de Amicis" primary school. Some school classes were gathered in the gymhall.
Sandro was delighted to present the Run to the kids - especially as this was the school of his childhood...
The kids explained the meaning of the drawing: the school in the centre of the world - and here you learn about the world....
...a candle was lit with the torch...
...and the kids passed the torch....
...the children had fun with our song....
...and asked our team many questions about the Run...
...the group picturedidn't end the meeting here, as on our way out we visited a few more school classes...
Sandro found his former teacher...
..its not so easy to blow out the flame....
High five on the way out. The parents were already awaiting their kids....
