In Trevignano Romano we were hosted by local families... we really felt like home!
Thank you Trevignano for the great hospitality!
The countryside is simply gorgeous!
On our way to the city of Viterbo...
...the happiest sheep in the world! Green - white - blue.... had it been the sunset with a red sky this could have been the Italian flag!!
Welcome to Viterbo!
...our first meeting in Viterbo was on a sport field where we met children from three schools...
The city representative for sports welcomed our team.
...we played with the children the country guessing game...
....one of the rules of the game is that teachers should not give suggestions, otherwise they have to run a lap! The kids showed oneness with their teacher and accompanied her...
...the meeting ended with a 400m - dash around the track!
...we went on to the "Istituto Pietro Egidi" secondary school. The greeting committee was already waiting...
...a meeting with the students in the Aula. We showed them our video...
...a final group picture!
Thank you for the nice meeting!
A spontanious meeting - this scooter was dedicated to peace!
...our last school of the day was the primary school "Istituto Ellera"...
..the meeting took place in the school yard...
...the kids formed a circle and passed the torch...
...several times we had to run with the kids as they got really excited!
Thank you Viterbo for all the great meetings!
...we kept running North. The countryside and the villages along the road are simply stunning...
We reached Orvieto; an ancient city located on the top of a rock. The Dome (from 1290!!) is outstanding!
...getting ready for the underground...
Underneath Orvieto there are over 1200 caves and tunnels, many dating back to the Etruscan era (up to 1000 BC). Orvieto was a major political and religious centre for this old culture - the whole rock is nowadays penetrated like a Swiss cheese!
...you can visit caves on many levels below the surface...
...one of many wells that go DEEP!
Thank you for the very nice tour!
Orvieto has many beautiful spots and corners...
We reached our accommodation. Thank you "Casa di Accoglienza San Lodovico" for the kind hospitality!
