We left Firenze - it was another rainy morning. Nevertheless we were eager to cross the Apennine Mountains. Today was a day with few meetings but much running...
...Patricia challenging the hills...
...by the time we passed Passo della Raticosa (968m) finally the sun came out. It was only now that we could enjoy the stunning beauty of the countryside...
On our way across the mountains we visited Lello and his wife, old friends of the Peace Run...
Arriving in Bologna. The skyline of Bologna is dominated by approx. 300 towers. Some are quite high...
We made new friends in the "Caffe d'Arte".
..on our last km's a local runner joined in...
..and a group of walkers awaited us eagerly...
The club's name is "Fiacca e Debolezza", which means "tiredness and weekness" - quite a funny name!
Also a big "Thank You" to the police!
Our group marched the final stretch to the city hall...
The city hall of Bologna, a real Palazzo - like most city halls in Italy...
...we climbed up the stairs to the next floor - the stair case was used in old times by horses and even horse-carts, so the nobles could ride all the way up to the assembly hall...
We were received in the "Sala Rossa" by Mrs. Amelia Frascaroli, the city representative of Bologna.
During the meeting the audience increased by the minute. Almost the whole city council joined in...
We passed the torch...
After the meeting we also met Mr. Virginio Merola, the Mayor of Bologna.
A final group picture. Thank you for the great day!
