Our last running day in Italy! We left early direction Milan. Luckily the heavy morning rain just stopped before we started our Run...
Obviously we were running in the middle of nowhere!
One cappuccino to go, please! As you can see runners get treated very well in Italy!
Finally we reached Milano...
Meeting our police escort...
... and our local runners!
As we arrived in Cesano Boscone, in the West of Milano, we were enthusiastically welcomed by 700 children from the local schools...
... as we passed through the children, they joined us and accompanied us into the park.
Peace Run rocks!!!
Mr. Simone Negri, mayor of Cesano Boscone, received on behalf of the community the Torch Bearer Award. The whole town embraced the Run in a heartfelt way.
We had a joyful Run in the park with children and adults alike...
... the mayor was leading the crowd
We did tons of group pictures: class by class!
A brief group photo with the community administration.
Teo, our local organiser: a bit tired but very happy! Thank you Cesano Boscone for the hospitality!
Also big thanks to the police for the outstanding and heartfelt assistance!
The children tried their best to blow out the flame but all in vain!
We gave high five to most of the 700 kids as they left, and at the end our hands were really swollen!
