We meet the runners from the UISP running club. We actually had appointment in a square, outside, but given the weather we opted to meet in the Andy Taylor bar, which turned out to be quite enthusiastic about the Peace Run, so we took the chance for our first group shot together with the staff from the bar.
Selfie time!
Our next meeting was at the Military Academy of Modena, where a delegation welcomed us.
They underlined the importance of working for peace, because it is in their experience how painful and difficult it is to restore peace once it is destroyed.
Then the students of the Academy carried the torch until the City Hall.
Assessore Giulio Guerzoni, the sport deputy mayor, welcomed us and spoke very supportive words for peace and its initiatives.
Maurizio powering on! He helped us tremendously in organizing the run through Modena.
The runners from UISP welcomed us in their premises with a tasty refreshment!
Then they presented us with some medals...
...and balsamico vinegar from Modena!
Our next stop was the school "Cittadella". The kids greeted us with "high five".
Intensely trying to feel peace...
The Deputy Mayor for Sport presented us with medals from the city, as a thank you for the inspirational activity of the Peace Run
A beautiful gift from the students. They worked hard to produce beautiful artworks on the theme of peace.
Ms. Luisa Stefani, one of the main organizers "behind the scenes"...
Fast forward to Mantova, in the City Hall, the Deputy Mayor for Sport, Paola Nobis, welcomed us with kind words of support.
A big thank you to the Fidal running group of Mantova for leading us into the city!
The Bed & Breakfast Rara Avis hosted us for the night. Their hospitality was simply astonishing. Their generosity and friendliness made us feel completely at home.
Thank you again for the beautiful stay.
