Aberdeen - Glasgow

Reported by Devashishu Torpy 291.0 km

This week the international Peace Run team will run virtually through Scotland, from Aberdeen through Dundee, Edinburgh, Stirling to Glasgow. Adarsha Kelly has very kindly recorded some traditional songs as our soundtrack for the video.

The following photos are from the team that ran virtually through Iceland last week. This is Rade is from Macedonia, standing by the sacred lake Ohrid.

Sara is from the Netherlands.

Sara lives and works in Salzburg, Austria. Here she is holding the Peace Torch with her good friends.

Katka (right) is the representative from Slovakia on the team that ran through Iceland. Here she is with her good friend Danica.

Behind Katka is a statue of a marathon runner. Katka lives in Kosice, a city in the very east of Slovakia. Kosice is famous for having the oldest marathon in Europe (excluding the one that ancient Greek guy did). The annual marathon in Kosice started in 1924.

Katka had to baby sit some dogs during the week, so they got a chance to be on the Peace Run.

Akrura lives in Rio, Brazil. Is that a space station behind him?

Anupama is from Switzerland. She says that it was a very nice experience to run with the peace flame in her heart.

Giribhu was visiting the very north of Germany and took this picture by the sea.

Jovana by a very peaceful lake in Nis, Serbia.

Mahanidi is from Milan, Italy. Mahanidi owns and manages a very good sports shop that specialises in running shoes.

Baridhi (centre) was with friends in the Bulgarian mountains - so there were a lot of steep runs.

What goes up, must come down.

Peace run enthusiasts in Salzburg, Max and Raga, carry the torch.

Devarupi has been running in her native Poland. She reports: "For me this whole week was truly remarkable. I am amazed how much it felt real, like a real Peace Run, not a virtual one".

Luciana has been running in Rome. She ran 18 kms this week. Makula in the Ukraine ran 38 kms, and our friends in Vaasa, Finland ran 69 kms.

Daulot was on the team a few weeks ago, doing his running in the mountains of Washington State in the USA. I asked him if he came across Jack Kerouac in any of his runs. On a recent visit to the same area he came across this .....

Sara was able to run with a lit torch and made many new friends in Salzburg, who were more than happy to share a moment of peace.

Krzysztof from Poland reports: "In the evening I went running for the Peace Run - 4 km. Shortly after the 3 km point, some sort of magic started happening. I lost control over the running. I started to run automatically. I was not controlling either the speed or the posture of my body. Tiredness became hardly noticeable. I had a feeling that something was operating my body on my behalf. I think that is how athletes achieve record-breaking results - without any specific effort, just being open to what is going to happen in their lives. Then miracles happen. Something totally not planned - beyond control and effort. Gratitude".

Shaivya from Poland did some of her running in France.
