Today we had a wonderful opportunity to meet our Hungarian and Austrian neighbours on the three-border point among these countries, near the villages of Čunovo, Rajka and Deutsch Jahrndorf.
Dnes sme mali krásnu príležitosť sa stretnúť s našimi maďarskými a rakúskymi susedmi na trojhraničí týchto štátov, v blízkosti obcí Čunovo, Rajka a Deutsch Jahrndorf.
The reason was also exceptional - to celebrate peace, cooperation and unity together. These three countries are an example of living in mutual harmony, their inhabitants have friendly relations at all levels.
Dôvod bol tiež výnimočný - aby sme spolu oslávili mier, spoluprácu a jednotu. Tieto tri krajiny sú príkladom života vo vzájomnej harmónii, ich obyvatelia majú priateľské vzťahy na všetkých úrovniach.
Only a few decades ago, this place and the whole border were surrounded by barbed wire, separating land, families and inhibiting free movement. Now it has become a Sculpture park. It is very important to constantly remind ourselves how crucial peace is to our lives.
Len pred niekoľkými desaťročiami toto miesto a hranice boli obohnané ostatým drôtom, ktoré oddeľoval pozemky, rodiny a voľný pohyb. Teraz je z toho Park umenia a je veľmi dôležité si neustále pripomínať, aký kľúčový je mier pre náš život.
The highlight of the program was the unveiling of the Monument dedicated to peace in the presence of the mayors/representatives of all the neighboring towns.

Members of the Peace Run team (Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run) symbolically came from several sides, the Slovak side had the longest route to run of 2.8 km.

The Austrian and Hungarian runners were joined by all the international members, also children from the Hungarian school, and the official ceremony could begin.
K rakúskym a maďarským bežcom sa pridali všetci medzinárodní členovia, aj deti z maďarskej školy a oficiálna ceremónia sa mohla začať.
The Peace Run has been running since 1987 and has since visited more than 150 countries. The symbol is the burning torch, which represents our desire for peace. We also believe in the motto that peace starts with each one of us, each one of us can do something good in the world and together we will have a better future.
Mierový beh sa beží už od roku 1987 a odvtedy už navštívil viac ako 150 krajín. Symbolom je horiaca pochodeň, ktorá predstavuje našu túžbu po mieri. Veríme tiež v motto, že mier sa začína u každého z nás, každý z nás môže urobiť niečo dobré vo svete a spoločne budeme mať lepšiu budúcnosť.
The mayors of the border communities have really good and productive relations - they could be an example for all other civil servants, showing, that it is possible to work with ethics, tolerance, goodwill and in an exceptional way. We officially passed the torch to them and they greeted all the participants in their speech.
Starostovia pohraničných obcí majú naozaj dobré a produktívne vzťahy, a môžu byť príkladom pre všetkých ostatných štátnych úradníkov - že sa dá pracovať s etikou, toleranciou, dobrou vôľou a výnimočným spôsobom. Oficiálne sme im odovzdali pochodeň a oni vo svojom príhovore pozdravili všetkých zúčastnených.
Mr. Vince Kiss from Rajka, Hungary, mentioned that what the world needs most now is to raise awareness about peace. May peaceful coexistence in the three-border area serve as an example for many parts of the world.
P. Vince Kiss z maďarskej Rajky spomenul, že svet teraz najviac potrebuje zvýšiť povedomie o mieri. Nech mierovým spolužitie v trojhraničnom regióne slúži ako príklad pre mnohé časti sveta.
The mayor of Čunovo, Ms. Gabriela Ferenčáková, recalled that not so long ago there was a barbed wire separating families and friends and she experienced it for herself when she only saw her grandparents on the other side, behind the fence. It is important to pass on the idea of peace to our children so that they do not have to experience this. Let us also wish that there will be no more unpleasantness in the world, such as in Ukraine or Africa.
Starostka obce Čunovo, p. Gabriela Ferenčáková pripomenula, že ešte nedávno tu bol ostnatý drôt, ktorý oddeľoval rodiny a priateľov a sama ho zažila na vlastnej koži, keď videla svojich starých rodičov len z druhej strany. Je dôležité odovzdať myšlienku mieru našim deťom, aby už toto nemuseli zažiť. Tiež si zaželajme, aby na svete už neboli žiadne nepríjemnosti ako napríklad na Ukrajine alebo v Afrike.

He also quoted Gandhi, Gorbachev and John Lennon on peace.

The inspiration for the Peace-Blossom project comes from Sri Chinmoy, Indian peace philosopher, who was also the founder of many other initiatives to improve the quality of human life and, above all, the sense of inner peace within ourselves.

Sri Chinmoy was a prolific artist, sportsman, painter, writer and musician and also composed songs for many countries in honour of their outstanding qualities, including our own nations.
Singers from each country sang their country's song.

Then we all sang the song "A New World of Peace" together, after which we remained silent for a minute. This is the best way we can feel all the goodness we carry in our hearts, all the love and friendship we cherish. Let us let it shine from our heart and in this way offer positive feelings and goodwill to the whole world.
Následne sme všetci spoločne zaspievali pieseň „A New World of Peace“, po ktorej sme zostali minútu ticho. To je najlepší spôsob, ako môžeme precítiť všetko dobré, čo nosíme vo svojom srdci, všetku lásku a priateľstvo, ktoré si vážime. Nechajme to zažiariť z nášho srdca a takto ponúknuť všetky pozitívne pocity a dobrú vôľu celému svetu.
The children released balloons that said "PEACE" in three languages and thus sent a message to the whole world - we ask the whole planet to be at peace.
Deti vypustili balóniky, na ktorých bolo napísané „MIER“ v troch jazykoch a takto poslali odkaz do celého sveta - prosíme celú planétu, aby bola v mieri.
And as a symbol of sending our love and goodwill to the whole world, the representatives of the communities released peace doves.
A ako symbol posielania našej lásky a dobrej vôle celému svetu zástupcovia obcí vypustili holubice mieru.
We also handed over the Peace torch among all the participants, so that their wishes would also be carried during our travels around the world.
Pochodeň mieru sme popodávali aj medzi všetkými zúčastnenými, aby sme aj ich želania ďalej niesli na našich cestách po celom svete.
And finally, the run for peace could not be missed, everyone joined in.
