We arrived at Oxford City Hall where we had the honor to meet with Mayor Alton Craft and his staff. They received us enthusiastically and told us a little bit about his city. It was founded early in the 1850's and Oxford was the first city in Calhoun County. The city is also well known for Choccolocco Park, which is more than 300 acres and one of a kind, state of the art sports complex. It has many amenities including sports fields, walking, running, biking trails, kayaking and much more. Now I see why residents are proud to live in Oxford.

After our meeting with the mayor, the women's team ran 20 miles to Lakeside Park to relax for a while since we had a couple of hours for our next ceremony to begin. Here goes Harita!

The men's team finally arrived at Talladega City Hall where they met with the Mayor Ashton Hall (holding the torch), City Manager, Fire Department and Police Department.

The women's team finally arrived at Lakeside Park and it was a delight being there to relax after running our miles. So beautiful and peaceful.

We would like to thank Travis Hanes, Director of the Boys and Girls Club for having us. We had so much fun with his kids who were well behaved and very sweet. We offered them a certificate of appreciation and a painting by founder of the Peace Run, Sri Chinmoy.
We headed outside where everyone held the torch and made their own wish for world peace. Thank you for having us.You made our day with your beautiful smiles.
