Viseu - Vila Nova de Foz Côa

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 110.0 km

Viseu greeted the Peace Run with a beautiful morning! We gathered in front of Sé de Viseu...

The Bishop of Viseu, the Mayor and other guests of honor awaited the opening of the Peace Run in Viseu.
Once more our deepest gratitude to Viseu and especially to the Infantry Regiment 14 for hosting our team!

A large group of scouts joined the meeting and they entertained the crowd with a few very nice songs...

We presented the flaming torch to the Bishop of Viseu. His Eminence gave a very kind speech and passed the torch to the Mayor of Viseu.

The mayor addressed the people...

...and passed the torch on to the other guests of honor.

The spectators enjoyed our country guessing game - our way to introduce the team to the children.

...everybody liked it...

A group picture...

...and all the children passed the torch from hand to hand.

...a final picture and the local runners got ready...

Rsamivan, our British runner, became a TV star...

...the local police took us on a very scenic tour through the city...

...finally we left Viseu....

...long, empty roads...

..on our way to Vila Nova de Foz Côa we visited an olive oil farm.

...the owner explained us the whole production....

...and we could try all the local specialities...

Thank you for the nice tour!

Finally we reached Vila Nova de Foz Côa. What a nice running day!
