Macedo Cavaleiros - Bragança

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 65.0 km

Our last day in Portugal started in Macedo Cavaleiros. After a good-night's rest we went to the "Centro Escolar Macedo Cavaleiros".

As we arrived the kids were already lined-up...

The deputy mayor welcomed the team....

...you can tell it is a nice school when the teachers are happy!

...after the presentation we took the children for a short run...

Thank you Macedo Cavaleiros for the nice meeting and all the hospitality!

We went on and reached Bragança, our last meeting place in Portugal for this year. Local runners awaited us at the entrance of the city and accompanied us to the city hall.

The mayor gave us a warm welcome. We also received the city flag of Bragança as a gift!

...and we took the staff of the city hall for a short symbolic run....

..the mayor proved to be very sportive as he put on his running shoes and joined us for the whole afternoon!

...we got a nice city-tour...

...and the school party in Bragança started: "Escolar da Sé" was first...

Thanks for the outstanding welcome!

....snowy peaks greeted us from the distance...

...a group of children joined us to the next school...

...the mayor was still running. Ricardo carried the flag of Bragança to all meetings. A perfect sun-protection...

...arriving at "Escola Augusto Moreno"...

...really nice performances...

...and we went on...

The "Colégio Sagrada Coração de Jesus" gave us a heartfelt welcome!

...torches everywhere...

Thank you for the nice event!

...we reached our last meeting in Portugal...

...a powerful entrance: as all the kids lined up for "High Five"...

Ricardo received on behalf of the team as a gift a white rose...

Peace can be felt in the heart: by small kids...

...and big kids...

..the teachers were really enthusiastic...

A big hand to Bragança for hosting us and for giving the Peace Run in Portugal such a powerful fare-well party!
We enjoyed every single day and we will remember all the kind people we met!

...the last km to the border...

God bye Portugal! Thanks for all the hospitality and the perfect organisation!
