Lausanne - Neuchàtel

Reported by Dipavajan Renner 96.0 km

After a good night's rest and a short break for the official global opening of the Peace Run in New York we continued the European Run in Geneva. Big thanks to Madame Tesauri for hosting our team at her Le Bosquet Bed and Breakfast house in Versoix!

...vineyards along Lac Lèman...

...our first meeting: "Ecole Saint-Exupery" - a lovely school in Eysins. The kids gave us a musical welcome...

Peace can be felt in the heart....

The children prepared beautiful drawings...

...and a dynamic run around the school ended the heartfelt meeting...

Thank you "Ecole Saint-Exupery" for the fun!

...we reached Lausanne...

...and students of the "Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande" greeted us!

...High Five...

...presenting the Peace Run...

...and the passing of the torch...

....selfie-time....

...the students carried the torch class-by-class around the schoolyard...

...obviously they had lots of fun...

..and the teachers, too...

Thank you "Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande" for the enthusiastic meeting!

...three students carried the torch to the next school...

Welcome to ISL, the International School of Lausanne!

...we entered the gymhall and selected students carried the torch around a circle of kids...

...messages for peace...

"...Peace is like a Sundae Icecream with a cherry on top..."

Doing the country-guessing game in international schools our team is destined to loose...

...our song went well...

...and all the kids passed the torch...

A big hand to the International School of Lausanne for the great meeting!

...the afternoon we enjoyed a scenic run - despite a few hail-showers...

..reaching Neuchàtel...

...arriving in the stadium...

a final meeting with city representatives.

Thank you for the hospitality!

...as we crossed the mountains, snow was back!

..the final climb....

Vue des Alpes - a perfect ending for a great day!
