As we continue to head south, the Peace Run team runs all of its miles in the morning. We appreciated the cool, tranquil beauty of the adjacent swamp lands and forests. Most of us have never been in this part of the US before. Some of us even saw armadillos for the first time in our lives - a very unusual looking creature. Unfortunately we have no photos from the sightings.
Cheerful and enthusiastic locals joined the Run as it journeyed along Route 17.

While a ten thousand mile running journey may appear overwhelming, the team just takes it one day at a time, one step at a time.
We were enchanted by the variety of beautiful and often fragrant flowers growing along the sides of the road. Here was one example.

The Peace Run team met with the Jacksonville Unity Church congregation at midday. The Pastor warmly welcomed us.
