I arrived in Dakar, the capital by plane, and was taken by a car to Saint-Louis of Sénégal who was 250 km away in the north. I was honored to participate in te Peace Festival. The festival began on a Saturday morning at the French Institute with a lecture on peace with representatives from peace associations, from UNESCO, a philosophy teacher... and me for the Peace Run association!
During the afternoon and evening, music groups performed a wide variety of genres including rap, jazz band, and country music), and there was a poetry performance where I recited poems from written by Sri Chinmoy from his book "Inner and Outer peace".
At the end of the evening, the torch was lit and passed from hand to hand. Children from the area appeared suddenly and received so much joy!
The next day after we came to a square in the middle of the city, "Place Faidherbe". Over 200 walkers went through the historique city, carrying the torch and the peace run banner in front.
That Monday I gave the book "Sport and Meditation " to Siphir and I spoke about Sri Chinmoy and His Teachings and with his wife.
