The womens team started the day at Days Inn in Dyersburg where we were kindly hosted. The start of the day was sunny.

The mens team was also kindly supplied accomodation at Holiday Inn in Dyersburg, thanks.

Then it was off to the coffee shop for a kick start to the running day

There are always new people with new inspirations for us each day. Glenda Caudle from The Messenger enjoys holding the Peace Torch.

Collecting extra encouragements from varied souces that energise the team.

A big thank you to the fantastic lunch team of Kim Fowlkes, Andrea Wright and Lacey Thornton (and Manager Kevin Herrell) from Higher Ground for our delicious bagged lunches today. It is always a joy to have such great nourishment on the run.

We made it to Kentucky!! Home of the Derby and marking the entry to the more northern landscape. The storm clouds were rolling in but we were happy to be outdoors and running.

Happy in all climates.

Every day is a new experience.

We were so happy to be running in such a beautiful landscape today and even the impending rain was welcome.

Running on coffee, check out the stride!

Strong to the finish.

Undaunted by the greying sky and glad to be running on such a peaceful roadway as we enter the more rural counties of Kentucky and horse country.

Lunch in the rain.

The womens team had some close encounters today with the incoming electrical storm but managed to duck in and out of the support vehicle if the lightning felt too close.

Perhaps it was better outside than inside the vehicle today for visibility

Our dauntless runners enjoying a blessingful shower.

All teams alike. The torch flame burned valiantly until the rain became too heavy.

Everyone still wanted a turn to enjoy the rain proudly coming down.

We had more than the usual share of offers of a lift today but we were enjoying our time alone with just the flame and the rain.

Quiet country roads and compassion rain.

Smiles are genuine.

Looking foward to running again and making sure the runners are visible and safe.

A long straight with the finish flag to aim towards.

Much better even than it looks!

Trying some creative experiments with reflections and cameras.

Kay from the Cromwell County News, a newspaper she started herself many years ago, was excited to have some front page news today. We met up with her at the Carlisle County Elementary school where some of her grandchildren attend. Thank you for coming to meet us today Kay, we enjoyed your stories.

Parents from all walks of life.

Late but welcome arrivals to the school ceremony today.

A very attentive and excited audience at Carlisle County Elementary school.

The children never fail to guess the statue of Liberty which amazes some of us!

Some of the other countries are much harder to guess in the 'where do the runners come from?' game.

25 cents fine for teachers helping with answers!

What is the correct answer? Yes Mongolia is right.

Run run run run run run......

We are the oneness and fulness....

and like the running bit best.

"No this is my torch", perhaps that is not a peaceful behaviour and the children are shocked.

A more harmonious example of teamwork and friendship that gets the thumbs up.

The gift of the artwork by SriChinmoy is gratefully received by the school.

The teachers run a lap around the gymnasium with the torch much to the delight of their pupils.

The staff are always an integral part of school preparation for the team's visit and we are grateful for their support and encouragment.

The best part of the day is always getting to hold the Peace Torch

Class and friendship groups are fun.

Everyone likes to make a wish for peace.

The bridge to Chester.

Running in to Chester.

Three states in one day!

The home of Popeye.

Even Popeye likes the Peace Run.

Do they know Popeye in Mongolia? They do now!

Eat all your spinach to grow into a peace runner.

A day at the museum in Chester well spent.

Please send us a message, we would LOVE to hear from you!

See who is sending us messages.
