We are very grateful to the kind family that owns and manages the Chama River Band Lodge. The night before some of the runners enjoyed a dip in their hot tub and a short swim in the freezing cold river to loosen their legs after a long day on the road. We are sorry to say goodbye.

The women's team were delighted to stay in a really charming place called Vista del Rio Lodge a few steps away. We have really experienced the heart of New Mexico.

Natabara, our first runner of the day, was amazed at how green the landscape was after coming from Texas.

A kind passer stopped while we were running on the Continental Divide where rivers either flow to the Pacific or to the Atlantic ocean. He worked for the US Department of Interior' Bureau of Reclamation, which oversees the incredible 10-foot wide, 26 mile tunnel that was built back in the 1930s that carries water to cities in New Mexico such as Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

On the Continental Divide, water either flows west or east unless it is diverted to meet the needs of millions of people.

This morning we met an Iranian man that was doing a road trip across several states. He was so excited to see us and followed the team for the next 20 miles.

Proud and magestic, this lama pointed us towards our goal.

The morning team finished their miles at the stateline between New Mexico and Colorado. New Mexico definitely deserves its nickname - "Land of enchantment".

Our entry into Colorado far surpassed the teams expectations. The landscape during the day was stunning. We concluded the day in the charming town of Pagosa Springs.

Road workers were the first to hold to torch in this new state.

I can't think of a better way to finish the day than a visit to the "Springs Resort and Spa". The Peace Run has been stopping at this place for over 15 years and every time the staff have generously allowed us to soak our legs in the sulphur pools.

There is nothing like jumping from the Lobster pot (114F) into the freezing cold waters of the river that flows next to the hot springs.

DSP Pizzeria kindly offered us these huge vegetable pizzas for dinner. They were so delicious.
We had a lot of fun reading all the different signs in the restaurant.

Rosie, the owner of this wonderful pizzeria has a huge heart and we are very grateful for her support of the team.

Higher Country Lodge generously offered to participate in the Peace Run by providing really confortable accomodation for the team.

We looking forward to staying here in two years.

Alpine Inn once again sponsored the accommodation for the women's team, as they do every time the Peace Run comes through Pagosa Springs. Thank you so very much for the kindness and comfort we experienced- it was like staying with old friends!
