After a challenging year because of the earthquake and political upheaval, having the Peace Run in Nepal after almost one and a half year brings with it a great source of energy and inspiration to the country and its people.

The event started off early in the morning with the opening ceremony at the site of Sri Chinmoy’s statue in Nagarkot.

The Peace Run Team made its way from Nagarkot to Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, the Army School in Bhaktapur.

The students along with the teachers warmly welcomed the Peace Run Team.

The short program in the school included telling the students about the Peace Run followed by some skits to demonstrate harmony or disharmony. The team also peformed the Peace Run song and the World Harmony Run song. The students enthusiastically participated.

Shainik Awasiya Mahavidyala founded in 1976 is one of the oldest school in Bhaktapur and Mr. Shamim has been serving as the Principal of the school for 32 years. The Peace Run Team is very grateful to The Principal Mr. Shamim A. Shamim and his school for warmly hosting the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace Run event.

Joyful to hold the Peace Torch

The staff were really nice. We sang the Peace Run song for all the members. It was a very heart-warming experience with the old age members of the home.

And peace-lovers
Occupy the length and breadth
Of the world." - Sri Chinmoy
